Accounts Assistant- Maternity Reliever(6 months contract)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to serve as a maternity reliever at our production location in Naivasha.

Full-time · Naivasha (Kenya)

The Accounts Assistant is a professional, responsible for daily registering of financial transactions, gathering and monitoring financial data, preparing accurate statements, forecasting costs and revenues and managing tax payments. The Accounts Assistant ensures compliance with accounting regulations and supports the company’s financial decisions.

The Accounts Assistant of Florensis Kenya reports hierarchically to the Finance Officer and functionally to the International Shared Service Centre in the Netherlands. The function is full-time. The job location is Naivasha.

What does your job as an Accounts Assistant at Florensis entail?

• Responsible for day-to-day registration of purchase invoices, bank transactions, payroll transactions, and all other bookkeeping transactions

• Responsible for the consistency and accuracy of the general ledger

• Managing tax payments

• Creating and processing VAT and WHT declarations

• Monitoring and reporting of accounting discrepancies

• Ensuring that appropriate financial regulations and controls are in place and are properly functioning at all times

About you

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.

  • CPA qualification (at least Part I completed) will be an added advantage.

  • Minimum of three (3) years' relevant work experience as an Accounts Assistant, preferably within a horticultural or agricultural environment.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to develop reports, analyse financial data, and create interactive dashboards for management reporting

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office/365 and accounting software

  • In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures

  • Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate financial reports, analyse data, and develop dashboards for management reporting.

  • Solid knowledge of Kenyan accounting principles and local tax regulations

  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to adapt to and perform well in a multicultural setting, composed of people from different backgrounds and strong opinions.
