We're currently looking for a proactive, and improvement committed Junior Breeder to join our Breeding station in Quedlinburg (Germany)

Florensis is a growing, flourishing, and innovative company looking to expand our dedicated breeding team with a Junior Breeder at our Quedlinburg location.

As a Junior Breeder, you'll play a key role in the further growth and development of our organization. In Quedlinburg, you will work within a small, established team breeding varied selection of  ornamental crops.

Key Responsibilities

As a Junior Breeder, you will be an integral part of the Breeding team in Quedlinburg, responsible for developing new varieties of several ornamental crops within a collaborative team.

  • Daily Breeding Activities: Organizing crossings, selection, propagation, data collection and testing of selections.

  • Collaboration: Working closely with the Product Management, Supply Chain, Elite department, and Laboratory departments.

  • Work Environment: Alternating between greenhouse/field and the office (average ratio approximately 50:50). 

Quedlinburg has a rich history in agriculture and plant breeding. Working at this location means you're part of a long tradition of farming and breeding expertise.

What we expect

Completed agricultural education at higher vocational level or an equivalent level obtained through relevant experience in the agricultural sector.

  • Experience in practical plant breeding, in ornamentals is an advantage;

  • A hands-on and flexible attitude, a strong team player who is also able to work independently;

  • Necessary organisational skills and the ability to work methodically and results oriented;

  • Good communication skills in both spoken and written English and German;

  • Occasional business trips are part of the role.
