Florensis Kenya is seeking a proactive and hands-on Junior Greenhouse Supervisor to support the management of greenhouse production and delivery of high-quality cuttings.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The successful candidate will work closely with the Production Supervisor to coordinate crop production activities, labour planning, quality management, and team development while ensuring targets for productivity, reliability, and quality are achieved. The role offers an excellent opportunity for a developing production professional with a passion for horticulture and people leadership. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Junior Greenhouse Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Producing quality cuttings in line with production requirements.

  • Supporting the full crop cycle from greenhouse preparation, planting, crop maintenance, harvesting, discarding, and cleaning after the production season.

  • Ensuring timely greenhouse preparation and planting of mother stock in cooperation with Production Supervisor

  • Working closely with Agronomy to grow healthy mother stock and maintain crops for optimum productivity and quality.

  • Preparing weekly labour and harvest plans to support efficient production.

  • Participating in regular quality meetings with Production Supervisors, Group Leaders, and the Quality Department.

  • Coaching, training, and guiding Production Group Leaders and general workers.

  • Delegating duties effectively and ensuring clear follow-up on assigned tasks.

  • Supporting implementation of Green Trust

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.

  • 1-2 year experience in cuttings production while leading or coordinating a team.

  • Proficiency in computer applications.

  • Practical understanding of greenhouse operations, crop maintenance, harvesting, and quality systems.

  • Good planning and organisational skills.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Problem-solving ability.

  • Time and priority management skills.

  • Leadership and delegation skills.

  • Reliability and dependability.

  • Business acumen.

  • A practical, hands-on approach to greenhouse production.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate is someone who is visible on the ground, understands crop work, follows up consistently, supports team discipline, and can help translate production plans into daily action. This person should be able to lead teams calmly, communicate clearly, and act early when quality, labour, or crop risks appear.
