Head of Operation and Cultivation
At Quedlinburg Stock, Trial Garden & Breeding, genetics are maintained, high-quality cuttings are produced, and selection trials are raised for breeding. At the Trial Garden Quedlinburg, we build comparison trials and set up cross blocks. You, as Head of will be responsible for determining the cultivation strategy and crop protection plan. You direct cultivation activities based on strategy and planning. Achieves thereby conservation of genetics, high quality and quantity of cuttings, high germination of seed and high success rate of rooting, successful crosses and seed setting and high-quality trials.
As Head of Operation and Cultivation, you are a specialist in cultivation of plants. You co-operate with the Breeders and work intensively together with the small team of 15 full-time employees at our location. In addition, you will work closely with other responsible stakeholders in the Netherlands. You will report to the Manager Breeding & Innovations in The Netherlands.
At least 5 years of experience in greenhouse horticulture (in ornamentals is a plus);
Degree in the field of horticulture/agricultural sciences or a comparable education;
Relevant experience in crop protection;
An affinity with data and technology;
Excellent communication skills;
Good command of German and English, both spoken and written, Dutch is a plus.
